Default Azenis track pressures

I could have sworn that I asked this once before, but I can't find it in a search. What are good cold pressures for Azenises on an H1 car? I'm planning on running them for the two practice sessions at BeaveRun this weekend, but I can't remember what to set the pressures at.

The car is about 2300lb with driver, kosei wheels, relatively new pavement, 600/800 springs, revalved race konis....

I usually go with 37-38 front and 35-36 rear cold. It works for me, but I've been told I might be running them a bit high.

I run 36-37 psi front, 34 rear. (cold) My car weighs 2800lbs with me in it.

Also have about -2.5 camber up front and -1.5 camber rear.

37 cold? What are your hot pressures? I think those are way too high.

I like to keep mine around 40 hot, over 42psi they get very greasy.

Usually 33-34 (f) and 35-36 (r) cold on my car - i've gone down to 31/29psi cold as well with no problems.

they last longer with the fronts at 36psi. At least for me anyway. I have ran 33 psi in front before but the outside edges wear too fast. (my car is fat though 2800lbs)

Hrm... outside edge wears faster on my car, but I didnt think it was that bad or because of the lower pressures - I get even wear across the tread.

On a hot day I will start with 31f 33r. On a cool day, 33f 34r. Car is 2700# loaded.

I ran 32-34 cold. I didn't see much performance difference between 31 and 36. At around 38 I felt like performance began to drop and at 40 cold there was a huge dropoff.

[edit] car was a hybrid hatch at about 2300lb. Spring rates were around 500lb F/R at the time.

The only info I can give is based on our H4 CRX w 400/500. Set the car up with 32F/34R and went down 1 on one front only. We do not have a lot of negative Camber either. Car rotates very nicely. I have been told to try 35F/33R as an alternate. Our Azenis are on their 7th heat cycle. Hope this give a clue and BTW-do use a pyrometer.

my experience with these tires in autocross situations is that they don't seem to give a damn what pressure they are at. they aren't very camber sensitive either. since this is a practice day on tires you don't plan on racing on, i'd set em at 35 cold all around and fugitaboutem. what good is optimizing your pressures going to acheive? it's not like any info you glean from driving on these will carry over to real race rubber anyhow. which makes me question the whole idea of a practice day on tires you don't race on...

nate - who thinks this is like an autocross test & tune on snow tires

*edit* well, i did think of one thing you could get out of this. practice driving an ill handling car. all the more reason to not waste time optimizing your tire pressures. i'd think heat cycled crap hoosiers/toyo's/kumho's/whatever-brand-you-race-on, would give you a better idea of what the car is going to do though.

In my slower days, I liked higher pressures w/Azenis, but I'm with RJ on this one.

You're not going to wear them out, but they will get very greasy at high pressures and you'll get very slow.

I have two sets of Azenis in the garage and both of them have the wear "triangles" on the sidewall, so the job is easy if yours are also like this.
