Anybody is using this oil? How do you like it? I want to switch from Castrol SLX 0W30 to RS 10W60. Sometimes my car consumes oil when I drive it hard. I talked to the company which drives the Rs in the cup over here and they are using this oil. So I guess it must be good, or?
austrian ITR, what kind of races are you running in? If it's endurance race, you would obvious go higher than the factory recommended 5W or 10W-30. I remember people running 15W-40 (?) for track events.
Beware thicker oil. Make sure you have a decent oil temp gauge if you're going to try something thicker, as thicker oil may actually run hotter than thin.
Me? I run 5W-30 and 10W-30 in my ITR. So what if it burns some off? Replace it.

First, run a bigger/better radiator. If you still are burning oil get an external oil cooler. If your motor is burning oil - it's running too hot. Changing your oil viscosity is attacking the problem from the wrong end. Use what Honda recommends.

I heard, that the 10 W 60 can cause problems with the VTEC-System. The oilpressure that regulate the VTEC is not right, if you use 10 W 60. I talked to one guy of Rikli Motorsport. They drive with two ITR in the german DTC-series. They use 0 W 40 oil. These Interas got 240 hp whithout any turbos or superchargers. They shift at 9'800 rpm. If 0 W 40 oil is perfect for these hard conditions, i think you can use it whithout any problems.

You want to use an oil with as little variance between the "cold" and "hot" ratings. I would be very scared of using any oil with a 50 point spread. Not to mention the ITR engine does not get hot enough to justify a 60 weight oil, unless you are pushing 20+ lbs of boost or something

ORCA! Nice too see you here! What specs of cams do they use when they shift at such high rpms?
Then I guess i stick better with the 0W30 Castrol SLX.

Thats the point! Everybody says something different.
That's why I use 5W30.
