my motor makes a loud rattling type noise, it sounds like two pieces of metal hiting together , the faster i go the louder it is, it doesnt do this untill the car is warmed up, when i accerlerate and rev it makes the noise, i have a 98 itr head on a ls block with skunk2 cam gears and some other things but the cam gears got loose and they were negatized, and when the cam was negatized it did not make the noise at all, so could my problem be that i need to adjust the cam gears, when it wasnt makin the noise it was at comlete negative on the intake cam, and now both cams are at postive one, so do u think the noise is a result of my cam gears being adjust improperly,
just a note, my car also runs leat an vtec. and it also gets really hot, the meter goes over half to like 3 quarters sometimes without me even beating on it, just drving normal it gets that hot, cause the fan doesnt turn on soon enough.
i was just addin those other probs in case it might help you guys help me with my problem.
please help me with all ur input possible i really want to get my car running good. helpppp
thanks alot

Sounds like you were knocking the valves against the pistons. Since you were driving the car like that I would definitely check to see if any valves or guides are bent or damaged. Do notdrive the car with both cams adavnaced anymore. Retard them until the sound goes away. Your engine may be damaged already so be very careful when adjusting the cams. This is why people clay their motors to check for piston to valve clearance.
