Taking off my oil pan.....do I need a new gasket?
I will taking my oil pan off to do my turbo install. The car only has 15k on it. Do I need a new oil pan gasket? I'll get one if I need it, but I just dont wanna waste $25.
some people do some people dont...i dont kno its up 2 u really..i just got an install done and didnt use a new gasket(even tho i had one in the car), im pretty sure it'll be ok . (install w/ 10,000 miles on 2k gsr).
They are rubber, so you should be able to get away with the old one. Just clean the form-a-gasket off and re-apply to the appropriate areas.

it is always a good idea to change the gasket to save yourself from headaches down the line. because if it leaks after the install, you would have to redo everything all over again. so, imo, do it right the first time even though it costs an extra $70+ dollars. but, generally, if the oil pan gasket or any rubber gasket for that matter, is still soft and pretty flexible, you should be able to use it. if it is kind of hard and stiff, change it. hth
