This is the first lap and-a-half from the Group 2 race last Sunday in Portland. I qualified 3rd of 5 in GP and started towards the back of a 40 car field. I couldn't see the starter so I didn't get that good of a jump.
As we got to the chicane, thankfully I was on the inside on entry because there was a huge trainwreck to my left. In the video you can see it begin, and hear cars hitting each other.
Once we get to the braking zone off the end of the back straight, the blue GP Mini in my mirror looks like he pinches off the Rabbit. They touch, and the the Mini flies off track and rejoins at the back.
Nothing too impressive from me though. Just trying to keep the other two GP cars behind me and survive the first few laps. The fun part was catching and passing the 4th and 5th place GP cars to finish 3rd after I blew the chicane and watched them both go by. For some reason, my shift light took a dump during the race too.
Video is 43 megs... sorry dial-up's

John,
That's some of the clearest video I have seen. Do you set your camcorder on "auto" or do you manually adjust all the video settings.
If so what setting (manual) do you use?

43 megs for 3 min is too high in quality. I do 30 min videos on good quality and its 120 megs. it depend when you render your video what quality and settings you choose.
BTW: Good video by the way lots of action on first lap.

When I save it to the PC and edit, I have several options on quality/size. This video is about as good as it gets. I usually save it smaller/lower quality... sorry 'bout that. It's just so much better to look at when things are clear.

nice quality vid. definately nice to have high amount of bandwidth, even if im at work
yeah, good inside/outside line on the opening lap, but you can tell you lost a lot of time pinching the first turn again the second lap. seemed like there was just a lot of contact all around anyway. i wonder if that 510 or mini owner asked to see your tape.

Dave was driving the Mini and later asked me if I saw him "get taken out". I said I saw something, but wasn't sure at that point if I had it on video. If someone asks, I'll let them see it. Otherwise, I'm gonna be Switzerland.
