all-motor upgrades for 2k d16y8?
Any and all suggestions would be awesome. I am however working with an auto. trans and I do not want to swap for stick. The trans will be beefed up shortly with a TCI trans kit. Should be able to handle 300 hp. Car will be driven every day.
all motor and 2k to spend??? LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL. ****, that will barely buy u the basic gay bolt ons muchless get u any speed. come back when 1. u are serious about goin all motor 2. when u have some money 3. cause its expensive
You can make alot of power for 2k with that engine, however, not with the auto trans.
You can make b18c1 league whp with 90% oem parts...
pg6 pistons or p29 pistons, Apexi 1.1 or 1.5 headgasket, balance, port the head and get a wild cam like Crower 2 or 3. You can run it on a hondata or a the very minumum a chipped p28.

This will have you in the 170hp range based on past experience and depending on if you have different pullies or removed ac and ps you can make a few more

How will that do 170hp with no headwork and the stock cam.
To the original poster, take builthatch's advice if interested in goign all motor. However that auto tranny is really going to hurt you.
For headwork, take a look at the stage 2 head from http://www.exospeed.com

That is incredible.
I was thinking more like-
250 for pistons and rings (p29 with OE honda rings)
40 to shot peen the rods for 10 bux a rod
250 for hone and balance
150 for headgasket
650 Crower 2 or 3 cam and springs/ retainers
That alone is around 1350, leaving almost 700 bucks for whatever else you decide you want, but most people already have atleast I/H/E...something to get them by until they can upgrade...so using those existing parts, use the rest of the money for hondata and some dyno time...the bottom line here is that this can be done rather inexpensively if you are capable and have the tools...of course, if you are neither capable or dont have tools, then you will be paying out the *** for labor...

2mm on the TB try 10 I believe stock is 54mm but if you get the b16 tb which is 60 you can have it bored out to 64mm and then have the IM port matched to it
It really comes down in this case to tuning and the exhaust setup I recommened specifically
I'm doing similar right now but with a comptech header and slightly smaller exhaust with hondata s100 tuning on a d15 so I will be sure to post it up.
