well does it pass or not? just goto the test only center if you're sure it passes. the worse thing thats gonna happen is that they'll tell you to get it fixed if it doesn't pass. then buy a sohc

test only is not the ref...it's a smog place that only smogs and don't repair and don't offer advice on the repair. It's to lessen amount of bad mechanics to rip people off on smog. You will have to go to ref and get your car bar'ed for the 1.8L.

when you go to a ref, just tell them it's a 95 LS motor. they wont look at the VIN #'s on the block.

you should be fine since your motor is newer than your car, unless you have a bunch of mods you should be fine. I am no expert but I would not worry, i believe the law is to have a swap the motor must be the same year or newer

Isn't the intake manifold a little different on the OBDII motors? I think there's an additional sensor or two. I know that's how it is for the GSR.

hes patially right.. the truth is there is more smog equipment involved in an obd2 motor than an obd 1 if your lucky they will overlook the year of the motor at you smog referee which is a state appointed place. you will have to set an appointment up to get your car bar'd as an integra 1.8L legally in your car. the easiest thing to do would be convert your ls to all obd1 standards intake mani. dizzy. everything but the head block and tranny. my friend has recently bar'd an obd1 b16 in a 93 hatch so i know the proceedure.he had the 99-00 b16 but he knew it would be a bitch to do. and dont think they dont know thier **** because they do, they will look for stock airbox for your car.header.cat.exhaust.wiring must be neet and clean. once they inspect and approve the motor. they have a dyno thier which they will throw your car on and if you pass emissions for the ls then your done! they give you a sticker saying your car is bar'd in cali for a integra 1.8L and your all set. easier said then done but thats the deal.

Just so there's no confusion for those that are jumping into the swap world, you can pass with all of the above mentioned, as long as you have carb number for them. They'll actually print the items on your BAR sticker.

minor differences on the i/m wont really matter with the ref. as long as it looks similar and all the vaccum lines are attached in oem, usdm fashion, it will be kosher. dont forget to run a usdm obd1 p75 ecu also. the only extra sensor i can think of on the obd2 motor is crank fluctuation sensor

My buddy just carbd a 99-00 si motor into an eg. He told the ref that he was running 95 obdI emissions. He is now the proud owner of a Bar sticker.//
