Default Major Help Needed with Engine,,, Wont start at all!!!

alright, i just purchased this 89 honda prelude si. its an automatic transmission. at first i thought it needed a new starter, so i replaced the starter, and the battery, and all the connectors coming from, so no problem with that. but the engine still will not start, everything electrical comes on, cd player, sunroof, lights, horn works, and anything else electrical, but the engine will not turn over. when the ignition is cranked, the engine just makes a clicking noise. ive tried jumping it, replaced the spark plugs, and tried just about everything under my knowledge to get it to start, when the starter is hotwired, it does what it is suposed to be doing, but still doesnt turn the engine over. the thing will not start. i dont hear it turning over and trying to, instead, like i said, it just clicks. ive had it about a few weeks, and completely fuzzed out on what to do... any help at all would be great apreciated...cuz im lost-

You said the starter worked when hotwired? As in, you pulled it out of the car - and applied 12V on the lab bench and verified that the solenoid kicked the gear out and it spun, right?
You are describing the thing only clicking - and that seems like what happened recently to the old '88 lude we have. The solenoid was bad.

If it was the distributor - then the engine would turn over but never catch.
