Problem on 92 Si - Metallic grinding/scraping noise, rear brakes.
Okay.
Recently as I'm driving I'm getting a tsssch tsssch tsssch noise. Sounds like brake pads scraping rotor almost. Definitely coming from the left side of the car. I'm sure it's also coming from the rear because it goes away when I pull the e-brake. It changes with wheel speed, and not engine speed so I know it's not coming from the engine or anything like that.
Also, when reversing out of a parking space, I'll get a really nasty noise, basically sounds like leaving the e-brake half on and trying to drive. Engaged enough to drag and squeak, but not enough to stop the car.
Now, I'm guessing that there are automatic adjusters that extend the pads out as they get worn down, and I'm also guessing that the one on that wheels is broken or out of alignment or something.
Anyone got any tips on how to tell/diagnose/fix this problem?
