I just got Sparco seats for my EK. What brand seat belt harness should i buy? Can you give me links to whoever you suggust. Should i get a 4 point or 5 point harness also? I dont have back seats, so its not a problem with bolting up.

Just because you don't have back seats doesnt mean you know how to properly install a harness. Find out first before you hurt yourself. If you don't need a harness then you shouldnt really get one, but whatever. I say Simpson for all safety equipment. http://www.teamsimpson.com/

I don't know what kind of seats you got, but non-reclining race seats are not a good idea without a rollbar for safety reasons. If you're deadset on using harnesses with your seat, at least use some DOT approved harnesses and mount them as safe as possible.

Here's one guideline for installing:

Yeah, the only DOT approved harnesses that I know of are Schroth 4pt.

what if you got in a wreck and your car caught fire. would you be able to get out of a 5pt as easy as a 4pt or even stock safety harness?

It's just as easy to get out. Just a flip of a lever is all you need, and everything gets released.

How often do you road race that you need full harnesses? If you drive this car on the street you 100% should not install any other than OEM restraint devices in it.

just dont attatch them to your rear seat bolts, that is wack and dangerous.

make sure you get either a cage to bolt them to, or there are harness bars you can install as well

whoa, hold on now, is this a dedeicated race car?, or a daily driver? do you have a roll bar, or cage? and what kind of seats, fixed, or reclinable, what kind of racing are you doing, and finally, simpson is not the only answer, there is g-force, sparco, etc. there is alot to be answered first.

Not to mention safer. the stock three point seatbelt in your car is designed for less of an impact, the 5 or 6 point is for racing harness is far the safer option, that is in a racing situation.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by iggyracer &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">whoa, hold on now, is this a dedeicated race car?, or a daily driver? do you have a roll bar, or cage? and what kind of seats, fixed, or reclinable, what kind of racing are you doing, and finally, simpson is not the only answer, there is g-force, sparco, etc. there is alot to be answered first.

if this isn't a race car with a cage the best harness for you is no harness

I am actually getting that Sparco bar, that goes across the back to attatch the seat belt to.

If I were you, I would get a rollbar first.
