Dampers for stock class
Hey all; I've got a question about damper replacement in stock class for autocross. From the rule book:
The make of shock absorber may be substituted providing that the number, type, (e.g., tube, lever, etc.) system of attachment and attachment points are not altered, except as noted below. The interchange of gas and hydraulic shock absorbers is permitted. The following restrictions apply:
No more than two separate external shock damping adjustment controls. Gas pressure adjustment is not considered a damping adjustment.
The part that's highlighted: does that mean that each shock must have less than two controls; the four shocks on the car must have less than two controls total; or that they can only be two way adjustable?
My friend is wondering if he can go with KYB AGX or Koni Yellow on his stock ride, or if he'll have to go with the Koni Red non-adjustables.
Thanks!

It means each shock can have no more than 2 adjustments - i.e. rebound and compression, or low speed rebound and high speed rebmound, or compression and low speed rebound, and so forth.

So then the AGX or Yellows would be legal then?

Great, that's what I thought. Thanks so much!

Most of the serious stock class auto-xers use the Koni yellows and have them modified by Lee for compression adjustment. he can revalve them also to your liking.
A Koni double adjustable, revalved shock is the way to go for most of the stock a-x classes.
