stupid ? sprkplg wire order?
I have a 94 4cyl non v-tech. I am worried the spark plug wires are out of order. where do i find out the right order, Haynes is no help. And what would it do to have the plug wires in the wrong order?
Actually haynes does tell you the firing order, which is most important in making sure you have your wires set up right, second, whoever messed with the wires should have made an effort to note where on the cap the first wire was. From left to right on the valve cover, the spark plug wires follow this order 4-3-2-1. Follow your first wire (far right) to the cap, then as you move clockwise on the cap, the next wire should be three, then four, then two (i believe this is right, plz correct me if im wrong someone). Exactly why do you think yours are in the wrong order?
well i just unplugged the wires to check the plugs and assumed by length i could get them back in the same order. I kanda noted where they were but when i was putting them back on i questioned what if? they are back in the order they were then i bought the car. I put this topic on another board and the order they gave me didn't match mine. and haynes has two diagrams showing two different orders niether of which match mine. with the plug order being 4321 my order on the cap is

but i haven't heard from anyone what would happen if the order is off. I've been driving it with this order. It seems a little rougher than it should be but i wouldn't have thought for that reason. I don't see a mark for the #1 plug so whats the order from the top point around, and what if the order is off?
