how do i do this

Re: how do i do this (petergriffen)
First off you turn off the caps button. Second buy new wires. Remove them from the boxe. Lay them out so you can see the longest to the shortest. Now grab the longest one and walk to the engine. The spark plug on the far right hand side is the one that will need the longest wire. Remove THIS WIRE ONLY, and replace it with the new wire. You simply pull the wire straight up out of the engine, and remove the other end bu pulling it right out of the cap. Replace one wire at a time, you can see as you get closer to the cap the wires get shorter.
Longest to the right, shortest to the left. This is while looking at the engine from the fron of the car.

you have to go by the firing order. the wires are numbered. the firing order is 1,3,4,2 you have to remove the wires from the dis. cap, and then pull the boots from the valve cover. hope this helps.

Ok....the EASIEST way to do this....is to do ONE SPARK PLUG WIRE AT A TIME. DO NOT under any circumstances ( unless you know the firing order by heart ) remove more than one at a time.
And not to talk smack, but here's the "changing spark plugs for dummies 101" :
Start by facing your car from the front. Remove the far right spark plug wire on each end of both the distributor cap and valve cover and compare it in length to the new wires you have. Almost always ( and I've only ran into this once where it was NOT this way ), the corresponding new spark plug wire will be of the SAME LENGTH. Replace. Repeat this step for the remaining wires. Again, DO NOT remove more than ONE spark plug wire at a time.
This way, you guarantee that you don't mess up the firing order.

Yes, install them one at a time, pull from the dizzy, then weave the new wire as the old one was, and snap it into place, it should click down on both the dizzy, and the valve cover, longest wire obviously goes to the far right spark plug, and if the wires are a little bit to big in length, your not doing anythingg wrong, just long wires, thats how mine are.

And that description would be the one time where I had several wires the same length But it turns out whoever packaged the NGK wires gave me an extra #2 wire instead of a #3 That had me going for a while
