need help with muffler HELP!

Default need help with muffler HELP!

Me and my brother are trying to put on my new exhuast and we cannot figure out how to get off the flanges to remove my muffler. please help

Which flanges are you talking about? The rubber hangers?

wait, you mean the exhaust flanges to connect the piping? If so, it's just a slip joint. once you remove the bolts, just wiggle and perhaps bang on it to get them to seperate.

well i can't even get the bolts from the piping loose is it just stuck or is there something more???

your saying you cant get the bolts loose like there seized and wont turn or there stripped? if so thats normal for therse older cars get some vise grips and some map gas heat them up and use the vise grips to turn the bolts if this doesn't work use a tourch and melt them out if this is not what your talking about then you need to be a little more clear

well they're not stripped but the under side of my car looks a little rusty and i tried to clean up around it but it's dirty and maybe they are siezed or something what should i do i don't have the stuff to melt them out

Try putting your wrench on the nut and hit it with a hammer really hard(not kidding.) You will do more good usually doing that instead of pulling on it really hard. Also use PB Blaster if you still can't get it.
