Default Notchy Transmission

Hey folks, here's my problem. My tranny seems a little notchy and sometimes when i change gears, it doesn't seem as if it goes in quite smoothly. Sometimes it actually gets stuck and I need a couple of tries to get it into gear. I find that this happens most often with the 1-2 shift, but it happens with the 2-3 shift as well. I think i may need to replace the tranny oil or something but i'm not quite sure. Any help would be great..thanks

Sounds like you need a dose of gm syncromesh, it will improve your shifting smoothness all around and help with grinds too. If your cheap and don't want to spend 10.00 a quart you can buy a pennzoil version at autozone for 5 a quart.

My car had the same problem. How old is your clutch? If it's super old, the spring could have busted out, and it hits the flywheel bolts. After my motor blew and I got it all out and took off the tranny, I found that the clutch was completely toast, and one of the springs was seperated from the disc, and was grinding in there. I only had the car for two weeks before it went though, didn't have a chance to enjoy it. Now even if was complete, I can't drive it. Good Luck.

3 cause you'll spill 1/2 a quart on the ground.
Any GM dealership should have it, If your in the philly area theres about 200 gm dealerships within 50 miles of you.
