Default Check engine light check obd1 no instrument cluster?

I have a gutted crx with no instrument cluster and I switched to obd1.How do I check for a check engine light to see if I wired everything up correctly? I know you can jump the two wires or run a switch. But how can I read the blinks without a cluster? I have no wires for a cluster.

Run the D4 wire to a LED and then the other side of the LED to ground. Ground that sucka and watch it flash the code for you.

Thanks.I would have used the A13 plug instead of D4 good thing you said it.Before you even said it.I ordered a red LED and im going to use an obd0 cover with the hole in it.Then im going to run the led through the ecu and run a switch with the ground. What about the A13 MIL plug what should I do with it? D4 Service check connector.Dont I run the LED to the A13-MIL and ground the other side then ground D4 also?

Sorry, I kinda over read your post...see you have no cluster. I believe you will have to run 12v to one side of the LED, then the other side to A13. Then your switch will be controlled when you ground D4.

How did this work out. To see f I understand this. From A13 you ran to LED light and out the other side of the light to 12 Volt power source. Then when you want to read the codes you ground the wire at D4. This no males the light show codes. Did this work?
