99 Civic Hatch...what do you think???
Opinions or suggestions? I was thinking of selling it, but i owe a little more than i think i can get for it.

Exterior is stock except for skunk 2 coilovers and rota 16'' battles' with 205 Dunlop 901's all the way around. The motor is a stock 94 b16a3 from a del sol with an obd 1 conversion w/ skunk 2 chipped p28. Has an ex guage cluster, and skunk 2 shifter with a honda type r shift boot. Also has a dc sport 4-1 header, and type r rear section with 2 1/4 piping. Lemme know what you think. I was going to get the ctr front and rear lips and get the front bumper painted to match the rest of the car.

I think you should go to http://www.kbb.com and check what it's worth. Engine swaps and modifications don't add to the total value of any car. Find some desperate rich kid looking for a torqueless wonder and he'll pay whatever you ask.
BTW, this belongs in Appearance/Cosmetic.

alright, i hear TONS of people say this, but here's my logic... sure KBB.com doesnt take that into affect (mods) and some insurance companies wont even give you extra money for it. HOWEVER, the fact that some insurance companies WILL give you the extra money if you, say, total your car or something just by having the receipts obviously shows that the mods in your car can make your car worth more.
also, the simple fact that LOTS of people are willing to pay more money for swapped car points out the fact that cars indeed do have a higher value if there are certain mods done. i sure know id laugh my *** off if someone offered me the KBB price on my EK-22
oh yeah, and tight ride man - dont sell it. just pick up an extra job for the time being and then youll be set.

Dimis right. Actually modding a car lowers the value to anybody other than a boy racer. Nobody in their right mind will pay MORE than stock value for a car that's been dicked around with by god knows who. No offense to the original poster, but I damn sure wouldn't take on somebody else's project just because each and every one of us have ghetto rigged something and only know how it works. Helms is useless after it's been tampered with.

Keep it, its not about a car, its about YOUR car, and sometimes theres a attachment like with my car.
Regarding the modding and selling, I know ONE guy who sold his car for more, but I happen to know the car meticuloisly, and it was turbod properly, and I myself would give him more, cause i know exactly what hes done. The only other situation like this might be with friends and family, and no one else, cause someone else's mods, who knows if they did what right? Could be a fucked up car...

From all the companies I've heard of, they all charge you up the *** for insurance costs if you have upgrades done to the car and you want it insured. You can't just drop $6,000 worth of receipts on the insurance companie's desk and expect them to give you every penny back of your car was stolen or totalled. You need to bring them EVERY receipt once your upgrade has been done and claim it. Then, you insurance will go sky high. You'll be paying as if you owned a Mercedes. And for what, a Civic? No thanks.
Yes, you can sell your car for more than it's worth. Especially to a n00bi3 who wants a Honda. Especially to one desperate enough to buy one already modded.
As Ricey said, I wouldn't buy anything that has already been tampered with. Everyone I know ghett-rigs **** and I'm not going to start having headaches over why my car isn't starting only because one wire was connected with bubble gum and the gum melted off. That is not happening.
I know that no one would sell their car that they dumped $5,000 into and time for KBB value. But, to someone who wants a Honda, go ahead and raise the price by $10k. Some dumbass is going to get it.

thanks for everyones input...i may as well keep it because its not killing me to have it, Actually i think id be lost without a honda in my driveway.
As far as the price for it goes i was looking to get what i owed on my loan, not including the money for extras. i think the kbb in good condition is like 4650, and i owe 6450 on it and its in great condition and the work that has been done to it was done right and runs without any problems. Hell i still get 32mpg even with the chipped p28.
Anyone know where the best place to get the type r or mugen lips is?

Haha, welcome back in the game. Stay with Honda, were good people.
Anyways, I still reccomend ebay for those parts, even a knock off brand, anything pre-primed and made of a urethane plastic.

um, this is exactly right for some insurance companies... for instance my friends mom was concerned if he bought a different engine that it wouldnt be worth it cuz it could get totalled. she told the insurance company he bought a different engine for his integra and they said as long as he has the receipt theyll cover it. my friend also told me his insurance didnt go up because of it either.
i know what you guys are trying to say, but i personally feel that if theres a good market to sell your car for higher that its value is, that the value is somehow adjusted higher.
