Was thumbing through this months import tuner at the bookstore and in the power pages they dynoed a RSX Type S. Base line was low 160 whp but with a borla exhaust and injen intake, it hit 180 whp!!!! I don't get it...... They got 14 whp with the injen intake! Neither the baseline nor the final whp sounds right, what do you guys think?

since its import tuner they probably added some stickers onto the car to get that extra hp.

From what I have heard, the RSX responds nicely to intake and exhaust flow changes. Now that AKH picked theirs up, I am sure we will be seeing some results soon.

 

it`s also a 2 liter now, not a strung-out 1.8, and may respond to mods a bit better.

 

does that mean they can keep up with our Rs (stock Rs ) with just an intake??

it's import tuner, everything the dyno wid an intake puts down 180. i've noticed that everything the dyno seems high for some reason. most likely to pump everyone up to go and buy intakes...

 

RSX-S seem to respond well to mods. Only time will tell what is in store.

That engine is a killer. I believe those #'s.

 

right when i saw your post i went to my mailbox to check for the new it and it was there... damn a 6hp gain from exhaust and 15.2 from intake... nice


how do they pick cars for IT to dyno? I have never seen a R being dynoed on IT.. hmm that would be dope if they dyno a R with a hytech header and I/E.
