Default Side molding question

Oaky...I have seen alot of 92-95 civics that have had their side molding taken off and where they were, there are no holes or anything. Basically just a place where they were but still the color of the car...if you understand what I am saying. I was wondering upon removing the side moldings from a 92-95 civic, is there any holes where the side molding were held in place on the body or are they basically just glued to the side of the car. If I were to remove mine, would there be any holes behind them and will the paint where they were be the same as the car? Like the white hatch seen here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=943941. Thanks.

On Hatches, you could just pell the moldings off. On Coupes you get holes (atleast i did).

I've seen people take these off and there where holes, so they might of used some tuff to cover those holes up on that thread you posted.
Even on some hatches i've seen holes.

So expect holes if you are going to take them off, me i'm just going to leave the strips on and paint over mine, when I go to re-paint my car.

On civic coupe and four doors there is holes but on some hatch backs there are holes like dx but the cx there is no holes it was a factory option to have moldings the ones without just look like they used to have them.

It's based on the model. 92-95 hatches in the CX and VX models, have no moldings, and no holes. The DX and Si have moldings, that attach to the car with existing holes, and plastic retaining clips. The holes are square, and are placed on the front fender, door, and rear quarter panel.

I have a 92 cx, it has moldings, and holes in the body where the molding connect to it

They must have been added as an option for your particular car.
