Default Is this worth the money

I talked to a guy about doin a bored out lsVTEC motor and this is what I got

to build a b18 block with 84mm bore cp pistons and eagle rods will run you $2998.81 sorry but we do not sale flywheels or JUN3 cams we can get your head ported by portflow please let me know if you want a quote for that Our standard engine building
services include:
Engine Sleeving
Line Boring (ensures the most H.P. from the motor)
Bore & Hone
Arias, JE, Wiseco, ENDYN, CP, or Probe Pistons
Crower, Eagle or Cunningham Rods
Balancing The Rotating Assembly
Crank Sizing
Rod Sizing
Micro-Polishing The Crank
New Rod, Main And Thrust Bearings
Step Decking
Jet Wash Cleaning
Bead Blasting The Block
Full Blueprinting And Assembly

now my goal is 200whp+ on a daily driven EJ8 with a LS motor of course, but anyways u think its worth the 2k?

Is it 2k or 3k. Above you say $2999 whatever. And below $2k.
Anyway, that is a decent price for a brand new short block if it includesnew oil, water pumps etc..

i know this doesnt directly answer your question, but i fi were you have would have all that done on my own.

ie, buy the parts and talk to a shop and have them do what you cant. that way you learn more about what is going on and you understand what you need and what you dont, and more importantly what will be worth your money and what will not.

right off the bat, if your whp gaol is 200, i would say stick with pr4 rods. right there you save $250-350.

if you do it yourself, instead of sending to to a shop and getting it back, it will be an overall better and smarter build IMO.

now your getting into another topic that has been talked to death about already. "how to break in motor" realated stuff.

if your scared you might blow something up I don't think you should be the one breaking in the motor. Do things when you have enough knowledge and confidence, trust me bro.

I mean Im just cautious u know..but I mean I ono i know what I wanna do, but my thing is I live in GA and I might take trips to North Carolina..the Charlotte area, and Im just wonderin would it be ok for me to take such a nice drive there and back when the motor is built and put back in the car? cause my car will be daily driven and i've read on some threads that people have 30k on there motors and still running strong..so I believe I should be ok, cause I think I would think that trip to NC and back to GA would help break the motor in.
