December 1st, 2003
CAR IS STOLEN! from right out in front of my friends house.
December 3rd, 2003
car is recovered. found in washington DC abandoned on the side of the road. parially stripped.
list of stolen parts:
rear hatch
wheels
distributor (including harness side plugs)
intake tube
entire stereo system
body kit
misc broken/stolen interior pieces
taillights, corner lights, bumper lights
pics:
in the pics you will notice that the car does have the distributor and the hatch. i dont have pics from when they were both missing. these were as clost to what the car came back looking like. just imagine it without a rear hatch and without a distributor.
January 2004
picked up a rear hatch to replace the old one. ebay is great. found one the exact year and color. went and piced it up and installed it.
re-wire power to the main fuse box and starter since thieves took that too. also got a new distributor and re-wired it back into the harness.

and i picked up this to drive around in the meantime while the crx goes under cunstruction

i didnt really get much of anything else done on the car until may. i was pissed about the car getting stolen and not being able to drive it, plu i was away at school and had almost no time to work on it. i pretty much started collecting parts for the rebuild. over the next few months heres what i had collected:
front bumper and support
rear bumper and support
tail lights
all missing or broken interior peices
skunk2 IM
all accessories needed to make s2 manifold work (throttle cable, brackets, gaskets, hoses, etc)
May 2004
i just got out of school so now the fun begins to start the rebuild over the summer
installed the front bumper and support, rear bumper and support, and tail lights. luckily i still had a bunch of interior peices and corner lights and such. i installed those as well.

ahh shes looking like a car again
June 2004
i begin installing the Skunk2 IM. install goes as planned. thanks to getting every single piece that i needed before hand.

i also start buying things to completely overhaul the suspension.
polyurethane bushings including RTA bushings
Tokico Illumina 5-way adj. shocks
GC top hats
re using my existing GC coilovers
crx si rims
falken azeni tires
late June 2004
got the rims stripped painted and mounted and balanced.

i also cleaned up the injector wiring. i wasnt happy with it so i went to the honda dealer and picked up that cover that goes over it. i had to lengthen a few wires but oh well. while i was at it i figured i wanted to hook up an intake to my new manifold. i got a sock crx si air box, filter and arm as a temporary solution.

July 2004
i begin working on the suspension. took me about a week to complete. istalled the shocks, bushings, top hats, and the wheels. had to completely remove control arms, trailing arms and everything. i had never worked on the suspension before but with hte helms and just paying attention to what i was doing, it was a good leaning experience.

August 2004
replace the timing belt, water pump, crank pulley.
get new intake arm from ebay. i had to cut it to fit since i wanted to use the stock air box with it. hey i only spent 20 bucks on it, who cares. i also got an k&n drop in filter.
interior was put back together 99.9% just good enough so it looks like a car inside as well as out. got a new radio installed as well no pics of that though, not yet.
installed a switch in line with the service short connector to check codes. just thought it would make checking codes a lot easier.

then on August 3rd. im driving the rex down the road when all the sudden she dies on me. leaving me stranded. long story short i had to get towed home and i still have no idea whats wrong with it. details here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=955326.
im currently back at school and i wont get a lot of time to work on her for a while, til winter break i guess. ill keep it updated whenever i can get some work done on it.

You got lucky they didn't take the engine. Good to hear you had it running for a little while. Hopefully you get that problem fixed. Change the ignitor

first off great project.
im sorry what happend, but it seems that it is coming along ver well.
my question is could you or someone else explain into more depth this switch that will do something with the codes? I dont really understand it.

yes i know it looks better. ive seen the light
. and they didnt take the hood. i took it off before the car was stolen.
and about the switch...
to check the codes on your car, you have to put a jumper wire in both pins of that little connector. (88-89 have it under the hood, 90-91 have it under the dash.) one pin of this connector goes to your ecu, and the other pin goes to a ground. all i did was cut the connector off, take one wire, and hook it to one terminal of the switch, and took the other wire, and hooked it to the other terminal of the switch. so when i flip the switch, that wire from the ecu get grounded, just like if you had a jumper wire in the connector. this will let the ecu display the codes.
and you can put the ground anywhere, i grounded mine under the dash on the fuse box.

got a lot of stuff done. i figured out what was wrong with the car dying and misfiring. freaking distributor was bad
i also wired up and installed a gsr cluster. looks 987349827435 times better. only the dash lights dont work cause im missing a light bulb. and the speedo doesnt work yet cause i havent hooked up the electric speedo.
i picked up a b16 tranny for 300 bucks
i problably wont be able to install it til spring since its gonna get real cold now.
so once i get the tranny installed, the guages working perfect, and get an allignment done, the car will be perfect except for the body which will be the last thing attended to. function over fashion sukka lol
