Default all motor build to hit a goal... help?

my friend spent around $3500 all said and done to get a jdm b16 with ctr cams, a reprogrammed ecu, and exhaust into his del sol. its decently quick.

i would like to spend $3500 and be able to beat up on his car. thing is... i dont know where to spend the $3500.

i DO NOT want to go nitrous or turbo.

any plans to get a reliable car moving that fast?

honestly... i can swap an engine in a day, hell i did the del sol above, including the cams and all, but i dont know jack about rebuilding blocks and such...

help me out. its a simple request

goal is to beat a b16 with ctr cams, ecu, and exhaust? pretty easy.

1st, what platform are you working with? do you have an eg? ek? dc? saturn? silverado?

what engine are you building to beat the b16 in the delslow? i mean del sol.

i'm sure everyone else here would like to know before offering advice.

go b20z vtec with gsr head and type r cams.and some jdm 4-1 headers and vtec controller maybe you can pull on the dyno around 190 and 144 of torque.
with that torque im pretty sure you can beat him, thats is if you know how to drive.

i've looked into this more than once, but i am still very weary about the reliability of the b20 block, espically for a daily driver. i love to hit vtec, and get on it all the time, and im just not sure if the block will handle it....
