Not in 1997, but 1998+ did.

Yeah, i have a buddy with a 97 which does not have a rear wiper.. I wish my 98 did not come with one, it seems kind of point less for such a laid back windshield..

I've probably used it a total of 10 times. Its kind of pointless but Im sure Honda has a valid reason for puttin gone on there its not like them to just add pointless things.

None in 95.5-97
98+ is correct.

I use my mine whenever I get in my car and it's rained... So there's like water on there, so I just use the wiper to get it off... It's not too pointless... It also helps remove fog... Ha.

JDM ITRs from 96-98 had an option to have one or not, mine has none. Third brake light and ABS, air-con, clock and stereo were also optional. I have no abs, thrid brake light or rear wiper..sooooper lightweight y0!!

i removed mine and used the firewall cap with silicone to fill in the bushing. looks so much cleaner, especially with my shaved anthenna, but only a trained R owners eye could tell, nobody looks at that unless you tell em...

I read in a UK brochure for the Teg Type R that both the rear wiper and stereo were both optional extras..

Neither have I. When the car is moving the rain just sheets off so the wiper is virtually useless as already reported.

I really wish they put a rear wiper on my beater Altima though.
