AC/IDLE PROBLEM.
Whenever I just sit there waiting for someone in neutral just sittin' there while the car runs THE A/C goes on.. WHAT THE HELLLLLL.. whyy.. The thing isnt even on and it goes to a/c im not even using the fan.. why does it do this?? is it part of the idle to keep the car on? 1991 crx.. iono if this helps also but i dont have the a/c belt.. everytime i just sit there while the engine is in neutral it eats up the rpms.. and yea im thinkin this is a problem because the a/c goes on by itself? whyyy. help and thanks in advanced..
no my idle is at like the first line.. but yea the a/c goes on automatically and it goes higher... and yea..
example.. I sit there the idle is at the first line.. then out of no where it jumps to like 1 rpm and the ac light goes on. and stays there for like 3-5 min.. then the thing goes back to normal and the ac light goes off..

Your car is possessed.
Remove the A/C switch and see if it still does it.
If the A/C light on the switch is coming on then it sounds like the switch is shorting somehow.
Call a priest and have a full blown exorcism.

possessed haha. how gay. but seriously the buttons out (AC OFF) but when idlin out of no where the light comes on and the ac eats it up (the button is not push'd in) the light comes on even though its not on.

Yes, but there is a connection on the ECU that is supposed to bump up the idle for you when the A/C is on.
Maybe your wire is broke or something.

If the a/c light is actually coming on without the button being pushed, then there is def. a short in the a/c system. However, when I had my a/c compressor off for service a while back, the car did NOT jump rpms if the a/c was switched on. Without the a/c system pressure, the rpms did not jump at all. Just like I had done nothing except that the blue a/c light was on. If you have no belt on the a/c compressor (why the hell not, it's still summer!?) then your rpms should do nothing when the a/c is switched on. The problem is tied, but not sure where...

actually.. this is why the idle gets high. the a/c switch shorts out, turning the a/c on. the ecu see's the a/c is on and bumps the idle to compensate. although the belt is detached and the compressor isn't "using up" any rpms so the idle seems higher than it should be.
disconnect the plug behind the a/c button on the hvac controls.
