Default Buddy Club Racing Spec Dampers 1000lb spring rates OK

I emailed Buddy Club USA asking about spring rates. I will be using 800lb springs up front and 1000lb springs in the rear on Buddy Club Racing Spec Dampers. They said they use those exact rates on one of their project cars and the shocks should be able to handle it.

We'll see, I haven't used the springs yet and I have three more races left at Summit. I'll give a report on how things feel.

I think it would work fine, I'm pretty sure Jack @ P1 had 1000# springs on his hatch at one point. Ed

Buddy Club USA is a bunch of douche bags sitting by a phone with a Buddy Club catalog. They know absolutely nothing about BC products.

They aren't that great either. I think Buddy Club in general is poorly ran from an opperations stand point. Either that or I'm getting the run around from AJ as well. I should give them a call...

they sent out a new camshaft to someone who broke a Buddy Club Spec 3...

customer service seemed good there, signed up as a new user on h-tech just to take care of the situation after being notified...

You must have gotten one of the 'head' douche bags as opposed to the regular pee-on douche bags that answer my calls.

The Racing Specs dampers are not spec'ed to run 1000 lb springs. The shock will not handle it. By putting heavy rates to these dampers will be resulting a major wear to the piston valve inside the shock which means the damper won't last.

Yup, but not quite yet.
They're still down at R&D because they were delivered with the lower hardware for a GSR instead of an ITR.

We'll see what happens. That is why I asked BC USA. I put about 1000 race miles a year on my car. Hopefully, they will last, if not, oh well, go with something else.

There seems to be some conflicting info here. I have read that the Buddy Club RS dampers can handle up to a 24k (~1300#) spring straight out of the box without breaking a sweat.

Also David, if you would like, you can contact BC Japan and have them custom valve and spring your dampers.

conflicting info from BC USA? NEVER!

much like BC USA listing 12k/8k for the ITR on their website, but they really ship 10k/7k.. and it still says it, a week after I pointed it out to them..

Dave @ R&D hasn't had any luck getting rebuild info for me for/from Buddy Club (for my old set), so I have doubts that they'll do any "custom" work (or in what time frame).

Haha! Well, I don't mean to point fingers or call anyone out on any info BUT () I did speak with *%$& and I was told that he runs an 18k spring in the rear with no problems. The 24k thing was also said by the same shop.

Time frame? Hah! Order them now and your grand children might be able to enjoy them if they are lucky. Especially for a senior citizen like yourself Ed.
