b20z piston and valve clearance?????help
well i have a b16 head on my b20z bottom end..with gsr cams........running well soo.........thank god....its been about 5 months now...yeaaaa
n e ways want to put bigger cams in(buddyclub)maybe or something else but i know u suppose to notch out the pistons a little bit...or doo something else,cant remember wat its called....but i want to know if anyone has pics of the procedure or can tell me how to do it?? and wat to use??? pic's would be great.
if anyone has done this before and has put bigger cams.......please tell me your setup and how long ago u did it?? and how is the car running now?

my best suggestion is the one you really dont want to hear....
either remove the pistons and take them to a machine shop and have them cut the out the valve clearances to 33 on the intake side of the piston,and then have them balance the pistons.......
or just swap out new pistons.
you can do it yourself, we did this on my friends b20z with the pistons in the car,cover the entire block so nothing got inside with some duck tape all around, patience will be your friend,then got a marker and marked the lines to shave off 2mm on each side of the intake on the pistons,took a dremel and shave off what we though was perfectly even,and seem like we spent the same on all pistons, pistons dint last more than a week after a 8500 rev
on a safe note you can use ctr/itr cams and can retard or advance the cams by 2, before the valves hit the pistons, advancing or retarding to 3 its a sure hit. skunk2 stage 2,jun stage 3 and such are a sure hit. hope this helps
