Default Gauge cluster extra gauges...

Does anybody know where I can buy the gauge surrond that has 2 holes for 2 aftermarket gauges? Who makes these? Also, what size gauges fit in those holes. Any recommendation on gauges? Do all gauges work the same, so my decistion should be based on price?

I was looking to get Oil Pressure and Water temperature gauges. Where do I tap into for the oil pressure gauge? For the water temperature gauge, all I would have to do is tap into one of the wires going to the gauge cluster?

I'm pretty sure I have more questions than that, just can't think of it right now.

Thanks.

Autometer makes them. They fit 2-1/16" gauges. Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Water temp are all useful, fuel pressure gauge is useful too but not in the car, leave that in the engine compartment. The water temp gauge comes with a new sending unit, this sending unit will NOT fit into the stock sending unit location. You can cut the hose to the heater and put in a brass tee. Or on the hot radiator feed line.

If I had a water temperature gauge, why would I need to have a oil temperature gauge, isn't just one of them is good enough?

No. They tell the temperature of different liquids. For example, water temp doesn't mean that the oil is staying cool and not breaking down, just like a car with a oil cooler that has say 200 degree oil doesn't mean that the water temp is working, what if you have a clog in a hose, or a broken closed thermo, etc, water temp shoots up without oil temp raising that much, etc.

Here's a pic of the Autometer bezel with oil/temp pressure gauges. I haven't got the pickups installed yet - but they light up with the gauge cluster with the same red color...I like it. Fit/finish is only "okay".

The bezel is cheap. the gauges are not.

Bezel is part #20011 (94-00 2-1/16" Dual Instrument Cluster Bezel )

Gauge price depends on the kind you buy (electric vs mechanical)
