Default b16 CRX passes smog finally

1991 CRX SI --- No bar sticker yet ...but

I brought hydrcarbons down from 800 with two new o2 sensors and a 50 dollar carsound cat off ebay.

Technically I would of passed without the cat, but the tech wanted to see the numbers lower.

I also had a distributor go out during my attempts to smog, so I dont know if the bad dizzy was messing anything up or not..

Here are the final numbers if anyone is interested..
HC (PPM) idle = 60 Allowed = 120...I was like 115 before the cat
HC (PPM) 2500 RPM = 45 Allowed = 140...Nice to see it go down here..

CO (idle)=.02 allowed 1.0
CO (2500rpm) = .13 allowed 1.0

I think I still have some issues because my idle was 878 and my timing was a lil advanced at 18 degrees... Its always something with this bitch now thats shes Hybrid...

Next will be obd1 conversion, and built bottom end

U shouldnt have passed period at a smog station here in CA with an obd-0 B16. It should have been one of those "here are my papers and $200, when do i come back?"

The fine is a hefty one for a smog shop to do what they did, so i was just surprised they actually tested the car. But yea, please proceed to your local authorities.

i still don't see the point of having all the fancy smog crap on a motor in cali.. if the damn thing passes the pipe test and there is no major problems with it.. just pass the damn thing.

Totally agree.. This car is running really low emissions and is not ok in cali, yet a 74 v8 running on 6 of those 8 cyl using 3 quarts a week is ok in cali????

I know its a lost argument...politics / money / regulate

Help me Arnold!!!
