Default Ok Guys Please Help me with upgrade Tips!

Ok, I am driving a 4 speed automatic 93 Prelude Type S

I want to get a decent power gain without spending too heavily and without an engine swap.

I'm also looking for a good, mean sound.

My thoughts were..
Aem Intake (is v2 even possible on auto tranny type S 93?)
Nology Hotwires
Pacesetter Performance Headers
and maybe Tru-Power Pulleys

The only thing I've done to the car is put a high air flow tip for some sound (doesn't add any power does it?)

Well anyway guys...I really don't know much about cars, In fact I've been looking and can't even find the horsepower on my Lude..i know stick is 135 / 142 pounds of torque but no idea on automatic.

Please leave your comments on my upgrade ideas and approximately what horsepower gain you think I'll see..

Thanks so much, and sorry if I offended any of you with my lack of knoweledge :/

I would say go with the header and intake, don't get the wires or pulleys, and spend that money on an AFC.

Honestly, you're probably putting down about 100whp.

Automatic Prelude S is the slowest you can get, so if I were you I woudn't waste money trying to make that engine faster...

If you really want to, try some mods that will work with an H22 or H23 as well as your F22, like a lightweight flywheel and I'm sure an intake would work for all of them...maybe nitrous. And a good custom exhaust would be nice.

prelude s? Imo save every dime u have for a h22 swap. No bolt on will give u anywhere near the power of the stock h22 motor

By prelude Type S, do you mean the SOHC Prelude S or the DOHC 220 hp Type S. Either way, if you're going to open up your intake it's best to open your exhaust all the way back. My suggestion would be Intake, headers, and a catback exhaust. If you have the SOHC engine a H22 short block doesn't cost too much more than the intake, header, catback combo and gives you a lot more bang for the buck.

so I take it I shouldn't even bother to work on it...and just work on a swap? How much would a full h22 swap cost me....including labor / mounts

Nitrous or budget turbo (dsm).

DSM Manifold, DSM turbo and BOV, DSM injectors, DSM SMIC = $200 at any decent junkyard.

P06 ECU = $50
Charge Piping = $70-$120
Chip Burner = $50
Walbro In-Tank = $100
Oil Lines = $25
Downpipe/WG dump tube = $100

Voila! You can max out that t25 and easily handle it on the stock internals. The F series isn't as flimsy as H-Series motors. I'm willing to put money on you running 10psi daily. Any more than that and the turbo will start to suck, and your map sensor will freak out. The budget setup will let you put some money aside for good things, like a 5spd swap.
