skunk 2 camshafts...
Is anyone running the Skunk 2 setup ( camshafts, gears, retainers, valve springs, computer) ? If so what are the hp/ torque gains ? Does anyone have any dyno plots of this setup ? How do these cams compare to the Spec B's or A and Jun II ? I just want a daily driven street car that performs well (w/ stk idle) and once or twice a month 1/4 mile track also... With 11.4:1 compression, fpr, skunk 2 setup, computer, I/H/E, properly dynoed and tuned will I hit mid 13's ?
I believe the new Stage 2 and Stage 3 Skunk2 cams will be released next month.
They are not CARB legal like the current Stage 1's but hey, neither are Jun, Toda, or Spoon cams....
I can't wait to see how the new Crane 57300 cams and these Stage 2/3 Skunk2 cams compare. The prices are definitely better. The fact that Toda Killer cams are $1800/pr is pretty astonishing to me and peope WILL pay that amount for cams (even if it is high level racing that is pretty extravagant for cams).

I guess you do have to plug up the oil holes at the VTEC solenoid location.
I always wonder why the import market prices keep on climbing and climbing instead of getting more affordable as more buyers jump on the bandwagon. Supply and demand effect on prices...they just limit the supply on purpose as the demand skyrockets. Competition has not pulled the pricing down because we are so finicky.
You don't see this in the domestic hot rod market. The trend has always been to make the pricing drop as demand increases. There's more competition and the supply side keeps on coming.
I think by not giving these new companies a chance to bring forward and develop their products we are shooting our own feet (and wallet). Like Crower and Skunk2, there will be initial problems but I'm hoping ,like in these companies, the quality improves after the mistake and they are competitively priced.
I don't know how you guys do it and get the money for all this stuff....
