Default Air Conditiing retro-fit? 88 CRX Si

Can anyone help with a source for a retro-fit kit including the everything from the compressor, the drive belt, pully, to the switch that goes on the dash?

I know people take them out of project cars to lighten them up in preparation for racing etc. Does anyone have a complete set of parts?

Thanks

for a very long time...I was wondering about this myself... I eventually gave up on it with the B-series swap under way and all...

But .. anyways.. if it helps any, it was my understanding that the DEALER installed the A/C on EF's as part of a kit..

I have also seen what you are describing on ebay several times... a complete A/C swap... you just gotta keep an eye open and search until one pops up...

I have the original service manual so I should be able to find a list of all the parts and do as you say.

It can be done, but lots of work, and you'll be into it for some money by the time your done. A/C is nice to have though, but when i look at all the parts involved it makes me cringe.

I bought a whole system from a junkyard for $100, installed all of it and found the compressor to be bad. Now I think I'm going to give up because I dont want to buy a new compressor, or pay for the freon and all of that crap. What a waste

I think it would be worth it if you live someplace where its hot 80% a year, like Texas.

My God, what the hell am I going to do when I take my AC out for my turbo?!

Oh wait, I don't even use it.

A/C in the 88 Si was a dealer-installed option.

Is it possible to install ac on a car not so equipped from the factory, like an HF??? Or is this the same thing being discussed? Sorry, long day of classes.

Hmmmm........every stock si i've seen had A/C. Even my old 86 Si had A/C. My 88 dx also has A/C but that was an added bonus by whoever originally bought it.

Nope, I have an si and it didn't come with a/c. It was an option.

So is there alot work that goes along with trying to install a A/C unit in a car that doesn't come with A/C????

I heard u have to mess with all that crap under the dash and ect ect....

What other options do we have. As far as A/C goes???
