SPeaker wires in the doors
Get a marker.
Mark a place for a hole where the wires should pass through into the door.
Mark another mark on the chassis where the wires should come out of the cabin.
The wires coming out of the cabin should be located about 4 inches above the hole into the door.
If you drill the holes straight in line iwth each other then the wire would get pulled on and possibly end up breaking.
Take the door off if you can't get enough room to fit a drill in there.
Use grommets and wire loom or expect problmes in the future.
It's work to do it right so "fastest" doesn't apply IMO.
Do it right.

I ALWAYS run my wires through the factory wire loom. No drilling, no running extra loom...none of that.
Get a coat hanger, take off your doorpanel, take the wire to the end of the coat hanger...leave about 1" from the end of the coat hanger. Then, take that 1" section and fold it backwards down on top of the wire. Then tape it again.
This prevents the wire from being pulled off of the coat hanger....it can still be pulled out, but you've got to pull REALLY hard to get it off.
Anyway, then take the end of the coat hanger and shove it through either the hole in your door or the hole under the dash that goes into the door. It helps to have two people; one to push and one to grab the opposite end.

will do that sounds easy enough....what gauge speaker wire should i use and should i mount crossovers in the door or somwhere else in the car... which would require two sets of wires into the door

How did you accomplish that through the plastic molex plug in the chassis?
I pulled mine through the factory loom. I didn't want to use the stock speaker wire (yuck).
BUT, I still had to make a hole in the chassis because the factory wire had a plastic plug to make it easy to assemble the door.
I'm also aware that some cars have manual everything in the doors so they may not have a factory door wiring. He said CRX, no power windows or locks, and I figure that he may not have had factory speakers to begin with.

sounds nice nice
looks rice rice in bright blue wire
LoL

On the EF there are originally like 2 wires going into the doors, it is a tight space to put your hands in between the doors but you can do it for a clean install.
I would use 16 guage speaker wires for normal use or if your into the high end kind of stuff then 12 guage would be the better choice. The stock plastic plug on the door jams can be slightly modified to fit the speaker wires very easily.
There is plenty of space for you to drill a hole in the stock plug to fit a speaker wire. I did it on mine and I have the JDM door jam plugs, which has the wires for the power mirrors and the power windows. Plus I fit the speaker wires and the door lock actuator wires thru it.
Don't drill unnessary holes on your doors to pass a wire and definanetely don't run the wires into the door panels like some people, that is just ghetto.
If you own a new car like the EK's then you have to drill, ain't no way around that stock harness at the door.

there is always a way around it. I personally use zip ties, they won't poke through the rubber connecting the door to the chassis, just run the end of the zip tie thru the boot and tape the wires up to it and pull em through.
