My power windows and lock system seem to be having some problems lately. Sometimes the windows do not work at all and sometimes they work, albeit very slow (passenger side much slower than the driver, but the drivers side is still slow compared to what it used to be).

When the windows don't work at all (using the driver's controls) the controls from the other locations do not work either.

When the window controls fail there is a way that I can get them to function (this is ghetto but...) Originally if I slammed the door a few times I could get it to start working again. I couldn't understand why this worked (only sometimes though). Then one day I opened the door and started to fiddle with the wiring that leads from the car into the door.

This appeared to work, so in addition to my windows not going up as fast as they once did, there might be a wiring problem between my drivers side door and the car. One thing I don't understand is when the controls on the drivers side fail, why do the window controls at the other seats fail as well?

Now the power locks seem to have a similar problem of not working all the time. As you can guess, this happens concurrently when the window controls fail. There are a number of times when I try to open the doors from the outside (turning the key and holding it) and the other doors will not open so I have to manually open them. The same is true when I want to lock my doors from the outside.

Has anyone had any problems similar to this or any advice on how I should go about correcting it?

matter fact i have the same problem on my 95 accord lx (not as severe though. my windows just go slow, and my locks make a funny noise like they bout to go out) My bro has 93 civiv that had same problem. its a lose plug/ or bad fuse. The two are related somehow though i think, cuz my bro took his to honda dealer to fix his windows for bout 200 bucks or more, and when they fixed the windows they fixed the locks too for free.
