First check for a dead battery. The starter takes way more power than everything else.
If not, then try banging on the starter with a wrench or a broom handle. If it starts, then your starter is going bad. Otherwise, start looking for loose or corroded connections at your battery cables or ground cables.

Starter! My current POS has been doing the same. It eventually turns over. When it gets hot though...not a chance. I need to let it cool down for a while. Going for gas generally turns into an adventure. Jump starting has become a new fad for me. Thankfully JDMCRX and I are changing it soon
