Default 93 Civic SI, 99 Civic B16 Swap?

Found an excellent deal and need information for this swap. I can't find info for this. Yes, I do swaps all the time here in NC.
1993 Civic SI getting 99 Civic SI B16 swap.

I can tell there are issues between ODB1 to ODB2. Or just buying ODB1 parts like the distributor and ECU to use on this motor.

What parts and wiring changes are needed, and have you done it?

93 Si harness and 00 Si are COMPLETETLY different. Use the 93 Si harness. It should plug right into the distributor. If not, you may just have to rewire it (the dist). Use a OBD 1 P30 or P72. That will work fine. Or, get the P28 rechipped to DOHC spec.

Now here's what I have been told through a phone call to one of the bolt in kit manufacturers.

I need 3 things (at least),
1. 93 Civic SI ECU reprogrammed ($180) to B16A or buy ODB1 Del Sol VTEC B16A ECU or equivilant.
2. An ODB2 to ODB1 Adapter harness at $280!
3. A pigtail harness at $310!

You're kidding, $590 for wiring changes! I'm sure someone has figured this out. I'm getting ready to just order a JDM 92-95 B16A engine, ecu, and use the 99 Si tranny and axles I bought. Sell the other motor to someone with a newer Civic. Should make out better than paying all that for those harnesses. Any comments/suggestions?

Thanks,
Matthew Douglas

to save some $$ use u'r old wiring harness and ecu...u dont have to rewire the 93 wiring harness for u'r b16. u need to change the b16a1 dist. to an obd1 dist and u'll setup it will be plug and play

Here is what i did, I used a '95 SOHC VTEC wirring harness, changed the distributor, the altenator, and injectors, you will have to plug in an IAT sensor, and let it hang or get a Type R manifold, i would get the P28 reprogrammed, im running a P72 right now, but no knock sensor. You can sell all the old parts and get money.

yes, use your stock 93 si harness and sell the 2000 si harness, make money. use your stock p28 and reprogram or get p30. do not get gsr. you can also use the iat from the si motor but you will have to use the intake arm too. this swap is straight forward. same thing as the 92-95. you just get newer stuff. when you get all that stuff, trade for the obd1 distributor, alternator, injectors.
