B16A3 into a '93 civic si
Ok, I've done some research and think I'm ready for another go at this...what would it take to get a b16a3 to run in my '93 civ si?
I have 2 d16's, their transmissions, one is vtec the other is not, but i have essentially everything that comes with them from harness to ecu. Will the harness I have work? Will I have to get a new ecu? If so, which one will I need? From what I understand it should be a fairly simple swap.

Everything from your si will work with the new motor... I believe you have to extend the 0xygen sensor plug a few inches though

dont make anymore stupid posts
b16a3 and b16a2's are practically the same thing, but OBD1 > OBD2.
and you know that a Del Sol VTEC (aka the Del Slow) will stomp on your em1 pig of a car mod for mod right?

2000 Civic Si Curb Weight: 2601 lbs.
1997 Del Sol VTEC Curb Weight: 2522 lbs.

Okay, so does the em1 weigh more than a del sol? Yes I believe it does.
Sure I exaggerated, big deal, it still weighs less.
Want to make the weight difference even further? Take of the Del Sol's ~10lb top off. (Im not sure if its eactly 10 pounds but Im sure a great google **** such as yourself will look it up for me in an attempt to prove me wrong so you can look cool on the internet.)

Aren't you the kid that said a 99-00 Si exhaust manifold would fit on a 99-00 DX motor because they have the same front end?
Yeah, I thought so.
At a weight difference of 80lbs, the race will go to the better driver, not to the lighter vehicle. I don't look things up to look cool. I look up exact numbers to prevent the spread of misinformation like "del sols are super light" when in actuality, there are civic sedans that weigh less.

No go back and read it (i was under the impression he was saying he swapped a b16 in his dx and wanted to know if the si exhaust manifold would bolt up to his header back exhaust so if its different I misinterpreted it.), a dx + a b16 with a b16 header should bolt up to the exhaust since the front portion of the exhaust are the same.
and those 80 lbs will give the driver a .1 second room for error which is the difference in a good launch and a decent launch.

Considering he posted a DX manifold, I'm not sure what there was to misunderstand.
And 80lb's will give less than .08 seconds in perfect conditions with a perfect driver.

Being that you've "invoked Godwin's Law" I'll have to reiterrate my point seeing as how youve used it as a distraction against my arguement. My basic arguement was, a del sol IS in fact lighter than an em1, am I right or wrong? exaggerations aside.

You are correct. But it's not enough to make a difference in your everyday life. Your argument was flawed from the beginning because you used such a gross exadgeration, and then proceeded to post incorrect numbers, more exaggerations, and then threw the '****' flag around. My argument was never that an EM1 was lighter than a Del Sol. My argument was against your original exadgeration.
Godwin's Law still stands.

Ok, wonderful, so my ECU, and wiring harness from the d16's should work fine for the b16? and yea I went with a3 over a2 because it's obdI, vs obdII, thanks much if what I'm reading aside from the petty arguments is correct

No, your ecu will not work. You need the ecu for the B16A3, and a wiring harness from it would be a great help too.

kk...think I've almost got this, haha, I really appreciate all the help guys. So I'll need the b16a3, stock ecu, and wiring harness, everything else should be interchangeable, correct?
As a side note, I had bought a high output alternator for my civic, that should transfer without any problems, am I right?
