Default what engine swap is easiest for my 91 civic hatch with the 1.5L?

I just got a new honda civic hatch project car and i need to add some performance in it. I thought that i could get a turbo but then i was told that its would blow up my engine since it has about 150,000 on it.
So what i wanted to know is what engine should i get that uses the same stock eninge mounts? It has a stock 1.5L dx engine.
please help!!!!

any obd0 you could get a d series and use the current tranny and harness that you already have d16z6, d15 vtec, or dohc zc sounds good.

DOHC ZC. You can get one for under 600. Just get an ECU, do some wiring, and you're set.

Would a SOHC vtec work with a 1990 STD hatchback? Also, would I have to get a new tranny since mine is a 4-speed trany?

you will have to swap to mpfi and you will deffinitly need a 5 speed. the si tranny is popular.
