Carbotech HOLIDAY SALE for Integra Type-R Owners
CARBOTECH ENGINEERING IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE OUR 2001 HOLIDAY SALE FOR INTEGRA TYPE-R OWNERS ON HONDA-TECH.COM!
ITR Owners who call and mention that they saw us on Honda-Tech.com will receive one of the following (your choice):
(1) 15% off our entire order of custom brake pads in our Panther Plus compound
or
(2) one free bottle of Motul RBF 600 racing brake fluid with every axle set of custom brake pads you order
Our Panther Plus compound is perfectly suited for the DE event or lapping/track day event participants. We have several ITR customers who use our Panther Plus compound, and are very pleased, indeed. The Panther Plus has a Cf of 0.56, temperature range of 150F-1300F, is very rotor friendly, has a moderate dust and noise level, and good wear rates. For those who want to run the Panther Plus on the street, you can use Permatex Anti-Squeal compound (available from your local auto parts and supply store for $2.00) with your OEM factory shims to reduce noise levels dramatically. For more information, please read the various forums here on Honda-Tech.com by doing a search for "Carbotech", or visit our website at http://www.carbotecheng.com .
The 2001 Carbotech Holiday Sale for ITR Owners is active from today until December 21, 2001. Orders placed before December 17, 2001 will be delivered before Christmas; in some cases, based on where you are located, you may have to use an overnight delivery method).
The ITR uses the D503 FRONT pad, and the D536 REAR pad. List prices are $132 FRONT and $99 REAR - this is for a pad that will give you race-car stopping performance on the track, and excellent cold stopping on the street, along with very good wear rates, especially on your rotors. The Holiday Sale prices are $112.20 FRONT and $84.15 REAR.
Please feel free to send me e-mail at andie@carbotecheng.com or toll-free at 877-899-5024 for more information.

HOw do those Panther Plus perform comparing with Hawk Blue, Hawk HP+ and R4 on a road course? I am about to buy some hawk blue or R4 because I found Hawk HP+ suck on a road course... Is this only shipped within the State? ship to Canada?
The Panther Plus is comparable to the Hawk Blue, based on customer response and testing, but it is much more rotor friendly, does not produce corrosive dust, and runs with a lower noise level. Some of our customers actually use the P+ on the street as well as on the track. The Hawk Blue and Porterfield R4 are both track-only compounds - completely unstreetable, but work very well on the track. The HP Plus makes for a good aggressive street compound and also for auto-x - I recommend this to a few customers looking for a good street/auto-x dual-purpose pad.
Carbotech ships internationally, not just in the United States, via UPS or FedEx.

The Porterfield R4S is a good street/light track pad. The Panther Plus has a higher Cf and temperature range than the R4S. The Porterfield R4S makes a better STREET pad than the Panther Plus, but the Panther Plus is much better on the track.
I need to make a point here. Our Panther line of compounds are STREETABLE, but are NOT "street pads". They just happen to be very rotor friendly and streetable because they are ceramic based, and have a very low carbon content. Carbon forms carbides, which are very rotor aggressive - Porterfield, Hawk and several other types of pads have a very high carbon content, and thus their race pads are not streetable and are very rotor aggressive.
In terms of performance, the Panther Plus should be compared to the R4 and Hawk Blue, and not the R4S and/or the Hawk Black.

Just a reminder for when you call to order:
It is (1) _OR_ (2)...not BOTH.
IOW, you choose EITHER 15% off your order for pads, OR you pay the regular price and get the free bottle of Motul RBF 600. I did this for people who might need brake fluid.
Thanks... Andie

If you want a more streetable pad, try Carbotech's SuperStreet F. I bought a set of these about a year ago and have been very happy with them. They are great street/autocross pads.
Carbotech is presently re-working its high-performance street program. The SS-F compound is no longer available for the ITR. We will be introducing a new street material early next year. Stay tuned...

I also want to know how these Carbotech compare to Poterfeild R4S pad......since they can both use on track and street.
Thanx

Corey, you know I always take care of you.
It's the same pad (D503) for the Prelude VTEC as on the ITR, so I don't see a problem with this. You could always call and lie to me and say that it is for an ITR...but then I'd figure it out eventually and charge you 15% MORE on the next order.
But then again, the word "lie" is just such a strong and distasteful word... Just kidding...
As an aside, I'm not allowed to make statements like that in a public forum, i.e. "Panther Plus will STOMP all over the R4S pads."
