I ran a 11.6 at 123 but fouled a plug out somewhere down the track. Ground strap was totally gone and the electrode was gone. The A/f was fine too. Guess I got a bad one. I was boosting 22 psi so im sure I was well on my way to a 10 second time. Wait till next year 10s will definantly be a reality for this LS.

Hey Val, the turbos in the classified section and the intercooler is soon to follow. If you want them both I can get you a deal. Or if anyone at that needs a good deal on a DRAG turbocharger and an intercooler I got them for sale.

how do all these ppl get so fast in a turbo ls? Are these guys STILL in a full interior gen3teg form????

I dunno because most ppl where i live.. are well they kinda can't tune for shiet... there are a few.. but man... a fast car here is what 13 something...

i own an ls.. and someday wanna turbo it... can ls blocks really really make 12? or even 11's??? and still be daily drivers?

Well I know a little about Josh's setup (Boosted3g)

He still has his front interior, the rear is stripped out. He doesnt drive the car on the street...but he could if he wanted to..it is still streetable. He is running a standalone fuel managment (PowerFC) and I believe he runs 110 octane at the track with lots of boost...but his block is stock (not sleeved)..so yes you can run 11s and still be streetable...just takes money,

i have the full front interior but the back has been ripped out in favor of a 6 point roll bar. I could run it everyday if i wanted to but I normally run on 100 unleaded so it costs quite a bit but its easily obtainable at a Sunoco near me. I can run full boost (as high at 22 psi) on 94 octane without any signs of detonation. Even since I added my Power Fc my times have been dropping like crazy. This winter I finally got rid of the stock sleeves and went to Golden Eagle for a sleeved 84.5mm setup. I got a little lower cr pistons (8.7:1) and addapted a 3 bar map to the FC so I plan on boosting aobut 25-26 psi. I think the key in making the Ls fast is headwork. I have a JG Proseries head that I took a dremel with a drywall bit and then sanded and polished to (yes you read correctly) smooth everything out. I use Crower 62403 cams set at 0,0. I run a skunk2 manifold for now but I want to make my own soon. I dont think the Ls is that hard to make fast its just do some headwork and throw some boost at it. The last time i was at the dyno was over a year ago, all my tuning has been late night runs down the highway with a friend watching the gauges. i really feel that my car could have gone 10s if I hadnt burned up a plug on the last day of the season. I turned the boost to 22psi and at the end of 3rd my car started to shake but i stayed in it. So all through 4th I was running on 3 cylinders. I had just put in a new set of plugs (Autolite 3924) and the one failed at only 50 miles at the most otherwise I feel I was very close to the 10's. Im no expert but i would suggest headwork and some more boost. All you need is 10 psi and some slicks to get into the 12's.

I just recieved the RevHard kit I'm planning to install in my Fiance's LS. Her's is an automatic so I'm anxious to see what kind of times it will run. Only mods other than turbo is a tranny cooler and high stall torque converter. I'm hoping it will run high 12's or low 13's when tuned properly.

I have 190,000+ miles on my LS and I want to go turbo. What do I need to do to make my car reliable for a turbo set up? Rebuild? Compression test?

Boosted3g had JE pistons and Crower rods when boosting 22 psi.

But is with forged pistons and rods like the other guy said, right?
You can't be using a stock headgasket or sleeves......I would think that the headgasket would blow at any more than about 15 psi.
Tell more.

Yes I used SRP 9.2:1 forged pistons with Crower rods. I do use the stock head gasket and still retain the stock sleeves. I do use ARP headstuds though. i have done this all year and it held up but I do not recommend it. The car still pulled like crazy but signs of wear are evident. My pistons were scarred up on the sides from cylinder wall flex and the walls were also scarred some. I dont know if I got lucky or if this is reliable. I know inlinepro does this all the time so I decided to take a stab at it. I was just experimenting with the car to see what it could handle and get it tuned close so i can transfer the programs over to the next engine and it willl run good. If someone will host some pictures I have a ton of them. A lot of internal shots and pics of the headwork. You can see that I do run the stock sleeves also.

Man I LOVE THE NON VTEC GURUS. I am running a built 92 LS B18a1 in my 92 HB VX. Yes Ls motors are very good to boost on the right tuning... I have seen a guy here in TX down in Houston run 12.5 on stock bottom end... Motor lasted about 5 months after before he built it up... Down below are some pics of my motor and car. Took me 8 months to do and I am still going. Waiting for the Hondata stage 4b and some dyno times. No 1/4 mile times yet since now the car only passed 800 miles.. Took me 4 months to do that since I switch cars here and there... Here is the car and the mods...

92 B18A1
PP head
port matched intake
bored, butterflied and polished TB
Web dual valve springs
Web titanium retainers
Ferrea SS valves
Je9.0:1 C/R
Eagle H beam rods
MSD 6AL with blaster 2 coil and MSD cap
Ractive wires
Greddy BOV and turbo timer

Also a One piece front end

GRound control coilovers, Tech 5 racing Shocks and camber correction kit
Trying to make it a daily driven 12/11 second full interior car.
