Default OT: What do the Olympics and F1 have in common?

Answer: They both had an event disrupted by the same person.

For those that don't know, the leader of the men's marathon was tackled/shoved/pushed off of the course during his race, and he ended up finishing third.

And who did the pushing? The same idiot/de-frocked priest that ran onto Silverstone in the middle of the F1 race last year holding a sign..... and almost getting runover.

Genius...........

What is even stranger than the fact that he keeps interupting these events is the reason for him doing it:

I'm pretty sure he was a street racer protesting the rr/autox forum putting him down and RJ locking all his threads. He saw all the people running in the street and figured they were street racers running from the cops and wanted to help them out.

The dumbass is doing this because he thinks the end of the world is coming.

He is a perfect example of the John Adams quote in my sig.

Amen to that. Too bad the crowd along the marathon route wasn't rougher with him...

No, it's , as you all know that he'll get a psychiatric evaluation, and spend a few years in the nuthouse at the taxpayer's expense. It doesn't matter if he's insane or not, he should never see public light again, and should spend the remainder of his days behind bars. Better yet, maybe somebody will put him out of his misery before that.

This guy really pisses me off.

I was amazed when he ran onto the track in Silverstone... but this is different.

Olympic runners train their whole lives for this single event. I am amazed at this runners' attitude in the article. "but I managed to finish and the bronze medal in such a difficult marathon is also a great achievement."

WHAT! You were in FIRST place buddy and some green clown came and physically KNOCKED you into 3rd.

Put this guy in a straight jacket for the rest of his life.

Yep, I agree. I hear the National Zoo is still having a budget crisis, so the lions and tigers coud use some feed. Anyways, that aside, if I heard correctly, the Olympic Committee (FIG or whatever) gave the guy a special award for the situation at hand.

I'm seriously surprised at the Marathon runner's attitude, but I guess he's just being the bigger person and turning the other cheek.

I just read that he was slapped with a one year probation and a $3,600 fine. Talk about ridiculous!!!

I can only hope his next choice for a venue is the running of the bulls.

He also has to stay out of trouble in Greece for 3 years. Not bad for assault and battery on international live TV.

What's even more asinine is the guy that crashed the diving (Golden Palace on his back, took a leap off the high dive platform) got 6 months in jail. He didn't hurt anybody, just caused a commotion.

This Irish assclown actually assaults an athlete and he gets probation? Ludicrous.
