When welding a cat will it mess up my headers and exhaust?

what do you mean? how are you welding this cat?

 

You weld your cat to a flange and then to your exhaust pipe. Then flange connects to your header flange. Nothing will get messed up.

 

I got my cat installed at a shop and they just welded the cat to my exhaust pipe. I didnt see a flange.

 

Yea theyll weld the cat to your exhaust pipe, then going to your header is a flange. They wont weld the cat directly to your header because thats beyond dumb.
