Default H22A PISTONS need ADVICE

I recently blew the ring lands on my h22a. So i pulled the motor apart and bought some JE 9:1 pistons. However NOW people are telling me that i can NOT use JE pistons unless i sleve the block. Is STOCK pistons my ONLY choice if im not sleving the block? So someone give me some insight please because I already spent 650 bucks on the JE pistons and dont know if i can return them.

You must sleeve the H-block if you are going to use forged pistons.

Wanna know more? Search. This has been covered countless times.

To the original poster: you have two options: plunk down the $800-$1000 for a sleeve job, or sell the pistons and buy a set of OEM pistons.........that is IF your cylinder walls were fine after the ring lands went.

You can't use the forged pistons without sleeeving due too FRM ( Fiber Reinforced material ) Do a search as ludeykrus stated. This has been covered many times and there is also alink in the FAQ thread about it.

Good Luck.
