Replacing VC gasket?
Hey guys i was wondering how hard is it to replace my spark plug tube seals and valved cover gasket.
I see that theres 7 bolts to remove the VC i think, its an LS. i I'm wondering if its as easy as just putting the VC gasket over and sliding the new spark plug tube seals in. Are they any special tools or anything important that should be done? It looks like an easy do, but let me know, if there more to it then let me know and i'll just go ahead and have someone else do it. Thanks.

Its an LS. It could be only 5 bolts, i was just counting all the bolts that i had seen around or in the VC. what about the spark plug tube seals? Any issues with that?<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Stock_LS »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i dont think its 7 bolts if u got non vtec one im not really sure.. but yeah its really really easy u dont need any special tools just make sure change ur cam seal as well and put those stuff that they put all over it, its like a play doh thing.. i forgot wut is called hehehehehe excuse me....

I recommend change all the seals since its all in there once u take of ur valve cover.. cam seals, head, gasket, spark plug seals, and dont forget to put some gasket sealer and oil on the gaskets before u put it back on... and thats it all job done in one work...

The gaskets are easy to replace. Just take out your spark plugs, unscrew the bolts and lift the valve cover up. The rubber spark plug seals should be under the valve cover, there are 4 of 'em. The spark plug seals and the valve cover gasket fit snugly into the groove under the valve cover. Put a little bit of gasket sealent on the corners of the gasket and put it back all together
Just as BG Boost said, they're easy to replace. You'll see the old spark plug tbe seals after you remove the valve cover and turn the cover over. As far as the gasket sealant, don't use it too much. I'd primarily only use it on the corners as well.
