Well my car had been burning oil for a little while now, so I figured it was either the rings or the valve seals... so I decided to have both a valve job done and up my slugs to the oversized Type S.
The knocking noise my engine had been making must have been a bad rod bearing caused by the oil consumption (which I figured the knocking was).
Here's a shot of one of my pistons... I forget which # it was but that isn't of much importance:
You can see both sized of the piston are scraped. It's only around the flat section where the pin sits. I'm assuming this was caused by a bad rod bearing allowing the piston to spin some in the cylinder? or is this something else like my rings were shot allowing the piston to push the lower section against the cylinder walls in some fashion? Just curious what caused this to the one piston.

EDIT: Please everyone reading this do not start a thread asking about forged pistons in a stock block. search, theres a thousand threads about it already
