It depends, most people run around 9.0:1 ~ 9.5:1 compression

Best "KIT"? http://www.full-race.com all the way. It's pricey but it's proven to make big numbers with their T3/T67 ...

Drag sucks ... I had that kit 4 years ago and the manifold design is not too great if you want to run a 3 inch+ exhaust system, you'll get a lot of boost creep.

motor is in machine shop as i speak. i need to know what is the best compression to run for a built boosted motor. the block is going to be bored to 2.0L, and the head is going to be ported and polished. also, need to know which cams will work the best. i planned on using skunk2 stage 2 cams, but i'm not sure that they are the best choice. i want to the motor to be able to handle between 20+ lb of boost. any advice will be helpful. thanks

skunk2 stage 2 are for n/a engines...

since you are boring to 2.0L then im sure your going be using pistons somewhere around 84mm, which also means you are going to have to sleeve your block because boring that much wont work with stock sleeves, ur cylinder walls are too thin and will fold like paper if you run alot of boost...look into either CP, JE, Wiseco pistons for lower compression, pop a headgasket on there as well...

Damn how much money are we talking about here for your budget first off. 2nd - what are your estimated power goals for instance 300hp, 350hp, 400, etc. 3rd like what he said about you boring it you'll need to sleeve it especially if you throw it up to 20lbs unless you want a hardknock life ahead of you I'd recommend just reading in the FI forum and ask those guys questions they are very helpful and although they don't have an integra they got b18's which is what your looking at building and boosting anyways.

the budget, yes...well put it this way; of course this project will run over my expected limit of about 4g's, but isn"t that always the case when you start a project. you have to expect the unexpected. as far as the hp goes...i will be satisfied w/ 400+. thanks for the advice. also, which cams would do the job, instead of stage 2's for a boosted application?

I thought forums where supposed to be a place where people with like interests...of all knowledge levels, could come together and talk about stuff and learn. I've tried to use the search but it doesn't return stuff that I find relevant. I was sure the read me said that you shouldn't shun others for asking questions, thats what Honda-Tech is for. I'm sorry I don't have all the knowledge that some may have but thought this would be a good place to get it. Thanks.

Keep the stock GSR cams.

Have you already had your block sleeved? If not, don't even think about boring it out. Seriously consider sending your block to somebody knowledgeable like Benson, GE, etc, instead of some hokey local machine shop.

Run 9:1 compression, it gives you lots of room to run boost on pump gas.

Thanks for the advice. Block is already bored and sleeved, was originally going to N/A, but decided the turbo route. By having larger displacement and lower compression, I know the octane needs to be higher, but by using low boost should compensate for that for now. Why would less displacement be ideal? (1.8 compared to 2.0+) Sorry don't know that much just trying to find out different opinions.
