help me wire my Gauge's so i stop looking like a damn ricer!!!
ok, i am pissed. hole in the firewall is bigger, gauges are mounted and now i cant figure out a place to wire the damn gauges up.
i need a 12v constant (after ignition), ground and one that hooks to dash lights.
the only place i have found to put them in one of the connectors on the internal fuse box, but there is no constant 12v source i can tap into there so they only work when the lights are on.
where do you have yours?

on my gauges i have them connected into the internal fuse box, and i used the fuse for "foglights". i have no foglights on my car...so that worked for me, constant power running into it, and you dont need to have the lights on. you just gotta look at all your fuses, pick one you dont use (it would be there for add on options when the car is first purchased). and drop the lines straight down behind the dash. or if it's a 4th gen, you can look under your dash, there is a plug that comes out, and theres a spot that you can run wires through your firewall into your engine bay, then just go to the battery if you want. hope this helps a little bit, sorry i couldnt give more info..

Really depends on where you want your gauges and how long of a wire that you want to run. Personally (due to my gauge pod) I have everything tapped off the clock power as I figured that the clock would not draw much at all by itself so I won't be popping fuses. It works and powers 3 gauges. I've also tapped off (on Civics and Integs) the cruise control button to power indiglo gauge clusters. You can really just tap off anything that gets a constant on power and headlight power and ground it where ever you want. But the best way is for the fusebox, I didn't have enough wire on hand (oops!) when I did my gauges so I tried off the clock. It works and I haven't touched it since.

Constant 12v is a 12 gauge white wire under the dash
Ground is anywhere on metal
Gauge illumination is Red/Black behind your radio. or 18 guage red/black wire in driver's kickpanel.

if u get a test light and check your incar fuse box you'll find the 12v constant and 12v lighting. they are there
You damn ricer. I may have done your work for you but I taxed the hell outta your computer, huh. Stop going to all those **** sites and you won't have this problem anymore.
We tried to wire the gauge lights to the dimmer wire (red/white), but then the gauges got brighter when the rest of the lights got dimmer. Oops. So they're just hooked to the lights now (at the dimmer switch).

I used the wiper fuse under the dash, works fine, not riced out at all, very clean install, just put the power wire on the fuse peg of the wipers, theyre always on when car is on.
