Default what should i check for when buying a used Civic....

i need help asap plz, guy selling a car real good price because i have worked with him before, so what should i check for before purchasing the car.. excpet for the oil which i already know, the transmisson fluid and smoke comming out of the exhaust... what else should i check for?

Leaking seals, brake pad linings, rotors, drums(if they apply), tires, alignment, body condition, suspension components, ect ect. there is alot when I purchase a car.. but then again if your getting it for a good price who cares.

If you've dealt with him before and you're going to buy it it's presumable that you trust him? Why not just take it to a mechanic and ask for a rundown of what's good and/or bad?

Take it for a drive, make sure it goes straight down the road, no bad rattles. Drive it and see how it feels.
