Default new to the all motor side.....

Well i've spent my past 2 years researching every aspect of the forced induction world and have helped many people over on team-integra put together some nice turbo setups, not to mention some local friends of mine......but to me it seems like high hp all motor setups are much more respected, and more of a rarity than turbo setups that you see EVERYWHERE now.

So i'll get to the point, i've decided that i'm gonna own one of each in my lifetime and i'd like my gsr to have the all motor setup.

I'll more than likely have my block built by Dan Benson, through earl here on h-t but I need to know what I need. I'd like to sleeve and bore to 84.55mm like I was going to with my turbo setup, then I'd like to run a pretty high cr for the street since all I use is 93 octane here in Georgia...maybe 13.5:1?? Then I would need some cams that are pretty wild, but that won't give me horrible problems on the street. I'll be tuning with Hondata as I would have with the turbo setup, and i'll need to build my head to accomodate the cams and the appropriate redline to use the full potential of the high compression 2.0L motor. Also since I was gonna be goin all out on the turbo setup, I will be saving up and probably buying a set of Toda ITBs....

Any help ya'll can give me would be greatly appreciated, also some suggestions on exhausts. I absolutely love the T1R titanium 2.5" exhaust, but i'm not quite sure which header to get. Hytech, smsp...??

Well from people's experience on here, it seems a dtr header will guarantee you extract every pony out the motor exhaust wise. I'd say 11's for compression or 12 flat, they're good safe numbers. I'm in the process of a build as well, that exhaust sounds sweet, titanium = lightweight no rust . People make good numbers with sk2 stg2 and jun 3's also rocket and wicked cams seem to be doing well. good luck with the build and enjoy raw simple all motor horsepower.

220 whp is not as easy as some would suggest. Look around and you won't see too many posts (with dyno's to back it up) of 220+ all motor setups. HyTech and SMSP headers are a good choice for all motor power, but be prepared to wait months. I envy you 93 octane pump gas, 91 is all we get in California 12:1 + compression is the way to go. Look into Wiseco pistons ; I have had much luck with them. Import Builders carries a nice selection.
I like Toda cams because of their bigger non-VTEC lobes, as well as top notch manufacturing, but they are a little trickier to tune. Skunk2 Stage 2 and Jun3 cams make good power and are easier to tune for the street. Hondata is a good choice for engine management; it has always worked well for me. Good luck!

I was thinking about having importbuilders build the block but I just need to know what specs I need. Would it be possible to run upwards of 13:1 on 93 octane? Also should I just get headwork done to my gsr head, or should I pick up a type r head?

What kind of valvetrain do you recommend that will give me the freedom to rev to 9500 if it is necessary
