Default eg and ek cat the same size?

wondering if i can put a catalytic convertor on my eg, they might be different, but are they the same size, are tehy interchangable?

EDIT: 95 civic ex cat and 96 civic ex cat interchangable? , eg and ek

96-00 dx motors have a cat integrated into the exhaust manifold. Won't work. I believe the civic si motor has a bung for the o2 sensor, so that won't work either.

i dont think so. like jackson said in the EKs theyre integrated into the exhaust manifold so the design is a bit different than the EGs

well the 96 ex has a separate cat like the older 95 ex, its the same setup, i just wanna make sure the length is te same and that they bolt up the same

yes it will work. all models 92-95 (all trim levels) cats are identicle. and 96-00 exs are the same as the 5th gen

edit: i sold my high flow cat to a dude with a 97 EX. still running around with it till this day

No, 96-00 Civics have them integrated into the exhaust manifold, but not ALL. The D16y7 and D16y5 does, Civic DX, CX, LX, and HX. do have the cat in the headers. The 96-00 Civic Ex (engine D16Y8) has it separate, and downstream under the car. And the 99-00 Si has a different engine, a B16, so thats another design too.
