Four months ago, i went to install my HR sports...got the fronts on real easy...moved to the back, broke a couple ratchets with our 9 foot breaker bar so i tabled the project until i could get my hands on some air tools


well yesterday was the day, got my mechanics air tools, and He and I knocked out the rear springs in like an hour and a half....only now my rear driver wheel is making this terrible sqeaking sound whenever i go over bumps....any idea what can be causing this? My mechanic told me i needed to replace the where the strut hooks up with the hub, and I have a set of OEM bushings, but cannot get them pressed in until next week at the earliest....is that what this sound is from?


cliff note: installed rear springs [hr sport] and now i have a terrible squeaking sound from driver/rear wheel area...whats up with that

DUDE me too, its so annoying. I have the same springs and my read squeeks like that. It didn't do it until i got my new craftsman jack and jacked the car up higher than i could w/ my older one. I dunno if that put too much weight on something in the rear or what, but it isn't cool and i dunno what the problem is.

Note: I didn't install the springs myself, the previous owner did

can anyone confirm/deny the bushings as a possible source for this sound?

 

I completely LIVE by my air tools anytime i touch a suspension, I think they are a must have.

Also have WD-40 and a propane torch handy for seized bolts!
